NOOP App Guide (noop-app.com) is an independent website of plain-English guides for NOOP, the free offline companion app for WHOOP straps. We don't develop NOOP and we're not affiliated with the NOOP project or WHOOP, Inc. Every guide is based on NOOP's own documentation and in-app wording, and every download link points to NOOP's official GitHub releases.
What we do
NOOP is a capable app, but installing it is different from a normal app: it isn't in the app stores, so every platform shows a warning or two, and pairing a strap has its own rules. Our guides take people through it one screen at a time:
- Install guides for Android, iPhone and Mac, with a picture of each step.
- Setup guides for pairing a WHOOP strap and importing your WHOOP data.
- Explainers on NOOP's features, how its scores work and how it handles your data.
- Help for common problems and frequent questions.
How we write and check our guides
- We go to the source. Every guide is based on NOOP's published documentation, its source code and the exact wording of its screens. When we describe a button, it's the button's real name.
- We check against every release. Version numbers, file names, sizes and download links update automatically from NOOP's GitHub releases within an hour. We re-read the guides when a release changes how NOOP installs, pairs or asks for permissions.
- We say what we don't know. When something is experimental (like WHOOP 5.0 and MG support) or differs between devices, we say so rather than guess.
- Our step pictures are drawings. They show each screen with the button to tap circled, using the real wording. Your device's colours may differ slightly; the button names won't.
- Plain English first. Short sentences, one action per step, and no jargon without an explanation.
Downloads
We don't host NOOP. Every download button sends you to NOOP's official releases at github.com/ryanbr/noop, after a short countdown page, and the iPhone guide uses NOOP's own SideStore/AltStore source. We never offer modified copies.
Independence
NOOP App Guide isn't part of the NOOP project, isn't paid by it, and isn't affiliated with WHOOP, Inc. "WHOOP" is a trademark of WHOOP, Inc., used here only to name the straps NOOP works with. We can't fix bugs in the app, change how it works, or speak for WHOOP. For help with the app itself, NOOP's community is on r/NoopBand, Discord and GitHub.
Languages
Our guides are written in English and translated into the languages the NOOP app itself speaks. Button names in our step pictures are shown in English.
Corrections
Spotted a step that doesn't match what you see, or an outdated answer? Email contact@noop-app.com or use our contact page. Tell us the page, your device and what was different, and we'll fix it.
Not medical advice
Our guides explain how NOOP works. NOOP's numbers are estimates, not medical measurements, and nothing on this site is medical advice.
